Commemorative Religious Medal struck to commemorate the reopening of the Brotherhood of San Francisco Xavier de Bahia during the cholera epidemic of 1855-1856. The inscriptions refer to the miraculous extinction of the plague in 1686 and depict an incorrect rendition of the arms of Bahia placed at the feet of the Saint. .
