This exact piece sold at public auction for $500 hammer ($575 including the Buyer's Premium) in The New York Sale XXVI, 6 January 2011 and was described as follows "RUSSIAN COINS AND HISTORICAL MEDALS. Medals of Nicholas II. Medal. Bronze. 49.7 mm. By Huguenin. Salute to Tsar Nicholas II, n.d. (ca. 1914). Cf.Diakov 1573.1 (obverse). Facing bust of Nicholas above cavalry heading left, Imperial eagle behind, French legend around / Branch, tiny BRONZE stamped below. In Diakov, he reads the designer’s name as Stunzig?. But here below the obverse it is clearly Huguenin: Huguenin Freres, the famous Swiss die-sinking company. This medal and the one following are from a series of World War I leaders that Huguenin produced. Rare.".
