Andreas Vokos, nicknamed "Miaoulis" (1769-1835), was a Greek admiral and politician who commanded Greek naval forces during the Greek War of Independence. A big festival, called "Miaoulia", takes place in the city of Hydra (Miaoulis' place of birth) every year on the weekend closest to 21 June, to honor the Admiral for his role in the Revolution.
