While English Pattern, Trial, And Proof Coins (Wilson & Rasmussen) doesn't distinguish between proof and circulation strikings, certain examples of this type exhibit deeper mirrors and exceptional strikes. Both PCGS and NGC consider these pieces proofs based on their strike characteristics. We know that Blondeau struck several special pieces with the dies, including the fifty-shilling pieces (same dies), a seemingly unique gold broad with a plain edge (Hunter Collection), and silver strikings with both plain and grained edges. For more detailed information see "A Summary of the Cromwell Coinage" by Marvin Lessen: https://www.britnumsoc.org/publications/Digital%20BNJ/pdfs/1966_BNJ_35_17.pdf. Superb mirrored surfaces and frosted devices (cameo contrast not noted by PCGS).
