Bretislaus I was a duke of Bohemia from 1034 until his death in 1055. He is known for conquest of Moravia in 1029, for kidnapping his future wife Judith of Schweinfurt, and for his numerous military campaigns, issuing the first known Bohemian code of law and dividing Moravia into 3 apanages.
