Agostino Pennisi di Floristella (Acireale , July 17, 1832 - Acireale , August 14, 1885) was an Italian entrepreneur and numismatist. He inherited a vast collection of Greek-Sicilian and Roman coins which he expanded, followed by his son Salvatore Pennisi Alessi, and which today constitutes the Monetario Floristella, made up of thousands of rare and some unique pieces. Part of the collection is kept in the Regional Archaeological Museum of Syracuse, while other pieces are still kept in the family or have entered the collector's trade. [courtesy of Wikipedia].
