Melecio Figueroa (1842-1903) was a Filipino sculptor and engraver who studied in Madrid at he Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. While studying in Spain he won various prizes and recognition for his engravings. In 1892, he returned to the Philippines to teach engraving at the Escuela de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado in Manila as a professor. He was later appointed engraver in 1893 at the Casa Moneda or colonial mint His design was also featured in the coin series of the Philippine peso.
