The abbey of Oliva is a Cistercian monastery located near Danzig and was founds in 1174 AD by Subislau I, a prince of Pomerania. It became the center of the cistercian mission in Prussia.
The Treaty or Peace of Oliva, 23 April-3 May 1660 was one of the peace treaties ending the Second Northern War (1655–1660). At Oliva, Poland, peace terms were agreed between Sweden, the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Habsburgs and Brandenburg-Prussia.
