For the wedding of his nephew Johann Georg to Princess Maria Isabella of Württemberg, donated by the Numismatic Society in Dresden. Schaaf describes this as a Pattern 3 Mark, but is sometimes alternatively described as a Medallic 3 Mark. Court Councilor Richard Julius Erbstein ordered a medal for the Numismatic Society from Lauer in Nuremberg on the marriage of the second son of the later King George of Saxony (1902-1904), Johann Georg, with Maria Isabella of Württemberg, but their portraits were not very similar . So he discarded the stamps and had a reverse made with the inscription PROBE (SAMPLE). Erbstein turned to Max Barduleck for a second medal design.
