Circulation Coinage. The 1909 "VDB" varieties have the designer's initials inscribed at the 6 o'clock position on the reverse. The initials were removed until 1918, when they were restored on the obverse · MS60 and MS63 prices are for brown coins and MS65 prices are for coins that are at least 90% original red.
