Presented to Santiago mint officials. Possibly struck by the U.S Mint at Philadelphia. From a series of redesigned Chilean coinage tied to the U.S. Mint at Philadelphia. Chilean officials had employed the Chief Engraver, James Longacre to assist in the creation of new dies for the country's coinage.
