Marcus Didius Julianus (29 January 133 – 2 June 193) was Roman emperor from March to June 193 AD, during the tumultuous, "Year of the Five Emperors" when five different men claimed the title of Roman Emperor: Pertinax, Didius Julianus, Pescennius Niger, Clodius Albinus, and Septimius Severus. The power struggle set off a civil war following the political unrest that began with the assassination of Emperor Commodus.
