The buildings of the Imperial Institute, were designed by T. E. Cullen and built between 1887 and 1893, the Queen laying the foundation stone on 4th July 1887. The buildings were opened in May 1893 and this medal was likely struck at that time. Looped for suspension as issued. Exceedingly rare and unlisted in both Eimer and BHM. Currently the finest known at PCGS as of December 2025.
