Marcus Clodius Pupienus Maximus (c.164–238) was Roman emperor with Balbinus for 99 days in 238, during the Year of the Six Emperors. Few sources exists for this period, and knowledge of the emperor is limited. Contemporary texts referred to his cognomen "Maximus" rather than by his second family name, Pupienus.
