Trade coin for the Guinea Coast of Africa. Known as "Guinea Ducats" these pieces were minted with gold from Africa near where the Friedrich Willhelm, the Great Elector, had established his Grossfriedrichsburg Colony. The cost to mine and manufacture these coins was so high that Friedrich Wilhelm allegedly exclaimed that each Ducat cost two Ducats to produce.
